Mwalim Receives 10 NAMMY Nominations for "The Liberation Sessions"

NEW YORK - As Native American Music Awards advisory board members vote on finalists for the 2010 NAMMY recipients, it has been announced that Mwalim has received ten nominations for his work on "The Liberation Sessions" CD; including, Best Blues Recording, Best Compilation, Debut Artist of the Year, Best Male Artist, Best Pop Recording, Best Producer, Record of the Year, Song/ Single of the Year (DEM BIG GIRLS), Song of the Year, Best World Music Recording, and Songwriter of the Year.

The 12th Annual NAMMY Ceremony will be held on November 12, 2010. Past NAMMY recipients include Tracy Bone, Richie Havens, Pura Fe (Ulali), Janice Marie Johnson (Taste of Honey), John Desnmoore (The Doors), John Trudell, KC (KC and the Sunshine Band), Jimi Hendrix, John Pepper, and The Neville Brothers.

This past April, Mwalim received 12 nominations from the New England Urban Music Awards, walking away with the awards for best male and female (Amaris) Jazz vocalists. Currently he is working on a Deep Soul EP, and a CD for soul singer, Phillip Aaron.
